Bridges to Contemplative Living with Thomas Merton

(once monthly for 8 months) Begins March 26th, 2012

This program of spiritual growth for those who desire to live more contemplatively is inspired by the writings of Thomas Merton. Contemplative living is a way of responding to our everyday experiences by tending to our relationships. It deepens our awareness of connectedness and communion with others.
Each session begins with scripture and ends with prayer.

Cost $10.00 for 8 sessions (includes books)
Daytime session 1:00pm - OR - Evening session 7:00pm

Seeing the Holy through the Eye of our Camera

Come spend an early spring day on the grounds of Mount St. Joseph and capture the ordinary in an extraordinary manner. You are standing on holy ground! Bring your camera and comfortable walking shoes.

Daniel is a consultant who wors with students, adults and businesses to promote peaceful, harmonious interactions. In this effort he relies heavily on examples he photographs in nature. His photos have appeared in a number of publications and are on display at several exibits.

Sr. Donna Marie lives in Pittsburgh and is on the staff of the St. Joseph Spirituality Center located at the Motherhouse of the Baden congregation. Donna Marie is a cancer survivor with a huge heart of faith.

Helping Families and Children Through Loss and Grief

This day will focus on the needs of families as they adjust to the death of a loved one (or any other significant event.) The morning session will cover grief issues and responses that impact adults and the family. The afternoon session will focus on the special needs of children. Handouts will be available.

Each year during the four weeks before Christmas we enter the season of Advent
Time of anticipation, waiting and preparing. It is also a time of distraction, anxiety and consumerism. Give yourself the gift of an evening in which to center yourself as we move together into the busiest time of the year.
